Our approach

What is longevity medicine?

Longevity medicine focuses on extending healthspan — the years you live in good health — not just lifespan. Instead of waiting for disease to appear, we use advanced diagnostics, biomarker analysis, and root-cause medicine to identify risk early and act on it before it becomes illness.

How is Ikigai different from a traditional primary care practice?

Traditional primary care is built around reacting to symptoms within short visits. Ikigai is built around prevention: comprehensive baseline testing, longitudinal tracking of your data, and a dedicated medical team with the time to understand your history, trends, and goals. Care is individualized to your risk — not a standardized protocol.

How is this different from an executive physical?

Most executive physicals are one-day snapshots. Our programs pair advanced testing with real-world observation and ongoing interpretation — tracking how your physiology responds to training, nutrition, stress, and recovery over time, then turning that data into a concrete strategy.

Do you replace my primary care physician?

We work alongside your existing care team. Many patients keep a primary care physician for acute and routine needs while we focus on prevention, early detection, and long-term health strategy. We coordinate with your other providers whenever it helps your care.

Do you prescribe Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?

Yes — if testing shows it may be medically beneficial. Health optimization is a core pillar of our practice and hormones are an important part of that. We don't just look for "normal" levels; we look for "optimal" levels. If clinically indicated, we may prescribe bioidentical hormone replacement (including Testosterone, Thyroid, Progesterone, and Estrogen) to restore your vitality and metabolic function.

What happens if I need to see a specialist?

We act as the "quarterback" for your health. If you need a cardiologist, orthopedic surgeon, or other specialist, we can leverage our network to get you to the best providers quickly or work with your existing providers. We then coordinate with them to ensure your care is seamless, rather than fragmented.

Programs & pricing

What programs do you offer?

Three ways to work with us: the Foundations Membership (year-round, ongoing longevity care), the Executive Vitality Program (a two-month comprehensive health audit), and the Performance Lab (a six-month, physician-led performance intervention with baseline and re-test measurement).

Do you take insurance?

We are a private, cash-pay practice and do not bill health insurance for membership or service fees. This model allows us to work directly for you — your care is dictated by what you need, not what a plan covers. You can still use your insurance for medications at your pharmacy, and in many cases for outside imaging or referrals, depending on your plan.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Membership fees are generally not eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement because they are often classified as access fees rather than direct medical care. However, specific medical expenses incurred during your program — such as specialized lab work, diagnostic testing, or imaging — may be eligible depending on your plan's rules.

How much do programs cost?

Pricing depends on the program and the level of testing and support that's right for you. The best next step is a consultation — we'll learn where you are today, explain each program in detail, and give you straightforward pricing before you commit to anything.

Testing & diagnostics

What kind of testing do you do?

Testing is individualized to your risk, but may include advanced biomarker panels, DEXA scans for body composition and bone density, VO₂ max testing, coronary calcium scoring, CT angiography, continuous glucose monitoring, and whole-body MRI — incorporated through shared decision-making when appropriate.

Will you order tests my regular doctor won't?

Often, yes. Conventional care typically waits for standard screening thresholds. We use advanced diagnostics and longitudinal data to detect emerging risk earlier — at a stage where intervention is most effective. Every test we order has a clear clinical rationale we'll explain to you.

Logistics

Where are you located?

We have offices in Boulder–Denver, Charlotte, and Raleigh–Durham–Chapel Hill, and we serve patients globally through remote care.

Do I need to live near one of your offices?

No. We serve clients globally through advanced telemedicine and remote monitoring. We do require your initial evaluation to be in person — you'll visit our facility for your Day One testing (which may include DEXA scans, VO₂ max testing, and extensive blood panels). After that, your ongoing care can be entirely remote.
